Very good Strong story, and quite long for a first part. Didn't quite see the effects of the stat changes and the dice rolls were mainly 7 or higher. Few minor glitches, like not being able to manually overwrite but all in all a good read

Great book This is a great gamebook with a very strong story and characters. Ps is the next book out already or still being writen?

Sam Ferdinand at Dec. 12, 2012

Warning: NOT a "game book" ! If you know what real "gamebook" is, then you don't want to buy this! I'm not saying that this app is crap, but unlike the gamebooks from "Tin Man Games" (GA and Fighting Fantasy) and the "Lone Wolf" series, this app is nearly redundant of choices—all you do is flip pages. There is also no custom characters, even though the game proclaims so, just pure randomness. THIS APP SHOULD BE CALLED AN "INTERACTIVE STORY".

Daniel Barnes at Feb. 7, 2013

Great fun. Nice illustrations. Great job on the translations, fascinating history, and good story. I like the game mechanics. Can't wait for the sequel.

Good but not Amazing I have a feeling this was written for young audiences. Been a long time since I was a beginner and find that part kind of slow. The game balance needs some help, as many challenges are simply too hard. Having to roll 10+ on two dice is hard enough, but having to do it 3 times in a row is nearly impossible. Maybe allow different in-game choices before a roll that could possibly lower the difficulty?

Toni Simard at March 29, 2013

Toni This is very cool. Choose ur own adv r awesome just as books, but to b able to interact is awesome. Best yet, with this 1 u learn history as well.

Pretty good The story isn't new but it is well told. Artwork is nice with maps and character portraits. The dice rolls are pretty hard and character stats dont seem to affect them. Apart from that part of game mechanics this is a good one.

Adam Mobley at Aug. 22, 2014

Nicely written! The game mechanics are flawless, only complaint is the art kind of sloppy,But besides that awesome read along game!

A Google User at April 28, 2012

Good story, horrible mechanics. I mean, do your character's attributes have any bearing on die rolls at all? I'm trying to play through the last bit of the book, my character's Agility score is 9 (out of a possible 10), and I have to roll 8 OR BETTER (ON 2D6) , FOUR TIMES IN A ROW IN ORDER TO SURVIVE??!! Do you have any idea how difficult that is? Not to mention that it's just the first fight (in a string of at least three) and you have to do exactly that each and every time. After the ninth or tenth time that I attempted it, I finally just deleted the app in disgust. That said, I do like the story, and the art is good (especially the abundance of maps!) EDIT: I just figured out what the deal with character attributes is... Apparently the difficulty used to determine success is your character's attribute score plus bonuses. For example, your hero is trying to ride down a Saracen, and his Agility is 9. The game sets the base difficulty at 9, which means that you're actually being PENALIZED for having high attributes. Great app otherwise, but you may want to fix that.

Fun and simple I love simple games and I also love reading. This game brought both of those into play in a way that I love. The description is a little mediocre if you ask me but the story line is believable with good historical accuracy of the time and accurate vocabulary used by the time. I lost a lot of the dice roles and that may frustrate you but I wouldn't let that stop you from downloading it

Google User at Oct. 26, 2014

Not that good Only good thing is interesting story. Everything else is annoying. Stats don't matter cuz I was stuck on 1 part for over 20 tries. App also stops working with constant facebook pop ups.

A Google User at Oct. 23, 2012

Very nice! Ignore the people who don't understand what a gamebook is, (Hakka's inappropriate review). This app is exactly as advertised and was tons of fun, I can't wait to get my hands on the next installments!

Corté Brown at April 15, 2013

needs more customization the story was great, but i didn't feel the character was really, ME, personally. and i just rolled for stats and never really got to pick or say how my persona was, let alone my race, blonde hair and blue eyes is so cliche of a hero lol.

Go'el Son of Durotan at Feb. 2, 2014

Epic This is the best rpg game i have ever played. I have immersed myself into the lore and I love the fast pace dialogue an the details of what's happening around you is great.. make another :D I just beat the game but now when is the 2nd book is coming?

Michael Lewis at May 22, 2014

Decent The store is good and draws me in. However, some parts are darn near impossible! Having to roll 9 or 10 4 times is tough, but when you have to do it 3 or 4 times consecutively to move forward in the story...I know I'm not the luckiest person in the world...but I've tried this section almost 30 times now and I keep getting a spear in the guts. Other than this, it's a good one to try.

A Google User at Sept. 3, 2012

Great Game Moto Xoom Great little up that takes you back to play by book. The history tie in is a nice feel and the rolls add a bit more interaction. It can be tough at times but save your game and you'll be fine. Hope to see the other books soon.

Neng Lee at May 4, 2013

worse role play game ever! I always fail when rolling the dice and have to start from the auto save point. Got bored of dieing every time. Not worth the effort on playing this. un-install it. don't install this unless you want to spent 20-30 minute or so trying get a luckey roll. I would give it a 0 star but I cant so I'm giving it a 1 star.

Zack Zack at Oct. 14, 2013

Great story, lame gameplay The story and art are top notch. I was so hooked I beat it in one sitting. But the save system is unforgiving and so are the almost impossible dice rolls. But I don't care as long as the rest of the series comes out!

A Google User at June 27, 2012

Awesome Gamebook!!! Great fusion between the Gamebook genre and the RPG‘s! Awesome artwork (many colorful illustrations) and music from a rock band. Congrats!!! (we want the second book as soon as possible!!!)

Alessandro Secchi at March 29, 2013

Not really a gamebook There aren't many choices to make in this book, it mostly involves reading paragraph after paragraph and do some occasional dice rolling. The story is interesting, and the setting is rather original but that's about it.
