In 1970, I had on board the cargo ship for the European service as a third mate. While sailing the Pacific Ocean, the container ship which was stacked two high containers on deck has been close at hand, and I used to be felt feel inharmonious and ill-shaped ship strange.
Then, after a while, I received for my new assignment to the Computer division in order to engage in development of the Containerization regarding container inventory, container terminal management, Loading program etc. And it became the first step of engaging in container business. Those days, the progress of the container ship was still skeptical, the ship was also small, and the container ship in which the conventional ship was remodeled was in use.
Although the initial investment to the containerization was beyond imagination, I was sure that the future marine transportation is certain to be containerized. When container organization became a general transportation system, all of the container ship, the container, the container terminal, etc. could be provided with lease, and the competition in containerization intensified in the variety field, however, it specifically returns to maintenance of stable service and a quality.
We, as what is engaged in shipping, should be taken smooth communication with ship master and terminal operator based on the knowledge of the container transportation, and issuing exact directions is called for.
We have to pursue a customer\'s demand bearing in mind Custom Service, Risk Control, Execution, High Efficiency, Focusing strategy and Team work which are the motto of SITC, and have to provide the service to satisfy.
